Glad to see you could make it in. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and join in the chatter. Let get to know each other.
I'm going to have a cup of tea as coffee isn't for me. I get terrible stomach pain from drinking coffee so I'll just stay away from that. I love drinking tea. Such a wide variety. Of course I started out with drinking Lipton Tea but then tried Pure Ceylon Tea which is the one I drink the most.
When I started trading atc's and other trades some people remembered I liked tea and started sending me different types like Blackberry Sage,Peppermint,Organic English Breakfast Tea, Raseberry and White decafe,Strawberry and Cherry Black tea.
Since the Queens favorite tea is said to be Early Grey I thought I'd give that a try and I also have Irish Breakfast Tea. These are both Twinings of London and a very good brand I think. So as you can see my trading has brought about a whole new collection of teas for me.
Feel free to bring up any subject at all here. Talk about your day your plans to go on a trip even work if you'd like. I have three children, married and we love to travel about the United States and Canada. We have a map that we mark ever place we've been. We just pick a new destination and see what we find there.
I'd love to hear about your favorite destination.

I think I'll just have water AC. I don't drink milk and can't stand tea or coffee.
I've been several places around the country, but I'd have to say one of my most memorable and highest recomendation goes to Durango, CO. You've got to go there and ride the train to Silverton at least once in your life, if you like the outdoors that is. I suppose I wouldn't recomend Colorado if you don't appreciate nature. I enjoyed the region so much that we went two yrs in a row. The first year we went to Santa Fe, NM and then drove up to Cortez, CO (our hotel). In between we stopped at Bandelier natl park to see ruins. The next yr we just drove straight over (I'm in Kansas) to Durango. We rode the train and went to Mesa Verde, more ancient American Indian ruins. It's been around ten yrs and I've been itching to go back. I will make the trip again one day.

Is it just me or is winter time just not leaving this year. I spent my weekend out looking at plants. I bought a Yucca Tree!Does anyone do catus? I saw a thing where it says use sand and rocks in your catus gardens I wanted to know if anyone has tried that. I'd like to have a small catus garden.
I know everyone says I'm rushing it here for the East coast but I love to garden and I couldn't wait I started my lettuce in the house in a windowbox, 3 watermelon plants, cosmos flowers and I thought I was growing a grape vine I swear I planted the seeds but what is coming up looks more like wild jade, go figure..........
The garden in me is aching to come out.........

I have cactus indoors and out. You should add sand to your soil. I'm going to dig up most of my cactus bed and redo it this year. I have rocks down but I'm not very happy w/ them. I think they hinder the growth of my groundcovers and make it hard for other things to spread. I also need to get my soil in better shape. I didn't add any sand to it and the dirt here is all clay. Things have grown but I think (hope) they'll grow better if I get my soil in shape. Kansas City has a cactus & succulant society. I'm going to contact them and get some info about the soil. I don't know where you are, but if you're in cold climate there are winter hardy cactus out there.
Good luck w/ your gardening!

Welcome kevy! I'm not big into gardening but we have a big vegie garden every year. My hubby does most of the work. We grow tomatoes, cantalop, cucumbers, strawberries and some years watermellon or pumpkins. I haven't been very many places but I have been to Co. for my honeymoon. I've got to tell you, trini70, if you like Co. you'll love the Black Hills of South Dakota! Beautiful!!!

I've lived a city life for the majority of my life, so the enarest thing to a garden I ever had was growing a plant or two on a balcony...
I do agree, the Black Hills are gorgeous! |

I've been to Mt Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument, but it's been more than 20yrs and I don't remember a lot. I would like to go back someday.
Kevy, I know nothing of Japanese gardening but good luck w/ it. Let us know how it comes along.

I just got back from Artfest in Port Townsend, Washington, and OMG! What an incredible time. I had three fantastic all day classes taught by Misty Mawn, Tricia Baldwin Seggebruch and Lynn Perella. Wowsie!!!!! I learned ALOT! Met many, many wonderful artists and my house room mates were all the most beautiful folks! I highly recommend attending an art retreat like this if you have a chance. It was worth every little penny I saved for it. If you're interested in learning more check out http://www.teeshaslandofodd.com/artfest2008/info.html. :)
